I noticed a post on the revit users forum on linkedin today and i thought i would create a quick reply.
Revit split a roof.
It s roof by extrusion there isn t any sketch lines to split into multiple segments.
By default the whole roof will be sloped.
You will have to set the work plane to where you want to place the line.
You will still need to add an extra wall section to fill in the part gable.
Select another vertex edge.
The original poster wanted to create a split roof.
Use the reset shape tool to go back to a completely flat roof removing all split lines and points.

Define split lines by support beams you can use the pick supports tool to pick beams to define split lines and create constant bearing lines for the floor or roof.
