If your kit comes with ingredients that should be mixed together to form a putty or other filler follow the manufacturer s instructions. Don t try to fill the entire chip in one application. Abrasive scrubbers include steel wool scrubbing pads and scrubbing sponges. Let the floor dry completely before you proceed.

Wipe the damaged part of the floor with a clean damp cloth. The next step to restore laminate flooring is to clean with the right cleaning agent. Sweep your floor a couple of times a week if not every day to remove debris from your flooring. Use the marker crayon putty or pencil in the kit to fill in the scratch.

Cleaners that contain harsh and aggressive chemicals can strip the shine off your laminate floor and make it look faded. Laminate floor can scratch easily so don t use scrubbing pads or abrasive cleaners to maintain the floor. Those little bits of rock and dirt that hangs on to your shoes can become ground into your laminate causing micro scratches on the surface. Then press a shallow layer into the chip.

The best cleaning material for the floor is a soft lint free cloth or microfiber. Clean the flooring with the solvent and let it dry. Next squeeze a dollop of laminate repair paste onto a scrap piece of flooring or a mixing board and mix it with a putty knife until it begins to dry.
