Remove Granite Top From Vanity

Look underneath the vanity top for any fasteners holding it to the cabinet and remove these with a screwdriver.

Start by cutting off water and disconnecting and removing old fixtures. Cultured marble countertops attach to a vanity with silicone or acrylic adhesive at the upper rim of the cabinet. The vanity in this bathroom in my opinion is too big for the space. I really like this vanity s wooden cabinets but i need to replace the granite with a custom cut size and color.

My next idea was to replace the top and faucet. In most cases the vanity top is glued to the cabinet and you have to break the glue bond by inserting a putty knife between the cabinet and the vanity top and tapping it with a hammer. Lift off the old vanity top. I painted it with annie sloan chalk paint in graphite and sealed it with poly.
