Remove Broken Floor Tile

Tap the tile down with a flat board and mallet.

Replace cracked tile floor tiles using a grout scraper pry bar hammer and safety glasses. 3 heat the grout optional. Remove any loose adhesive remaining on the floor. Put the tile in place and twist it back and forth to spread the mortar.

Dampen a sponge and clean the floor. First isolate the broken tile from the rest of the floor by using a hammer and chisel to remove the grout around the tile. Use the flat side of the notched trowel to spread it out evenly then use the notched side to groove the adhesive. Apply the acrylic floor adhesive generously to the floor.

Here s how to go about it. Let the mortar cure then grout and seal the joints. When removing a single tile remove the grout on all sides of it to avoid damaging the others around it. Removing and replacing a broken ceramic tile isn t that difficult if you have matching tile leftover from the original installation.
